About Us

Woodway Water Authority has been in operation since 1970. Currently, WWA provides service to 1,400 customers. We have a total of 293,000 feet of water line in our system to maintain, and we are continuing to expand. Woodway Water Authority serves the Woodway Community, Dot, Route 58 Wilderness Road, Hickory Flats, and we serve the United States Penitentiary of Lee County.

The Woodway Water Authority is governed by five board members appointed by the Lee County Board of Supervisors, representing District 3. Board appointments are for a staggering four-year term, and the Board elects the Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Woodway Water Authority is dependent upon the sale of water services to meet its financial obligations. The Authority sets water rates to generate revenues to meet operation, maintenance, and debt services as well as cash reserve requirements. The monthly board meeting is held every month on the 2nd Monday at 12:00 PM at the Woodway Water Authority Office.
